Program Development Model
This sample program development model intends to show how meaningful learning develops through a continuous experiential cycle, with the interconnected aspects of authentic learning, social connection, and knowledge construction. The model represents learning as a process that moves through concrete experience, reflective observation, abstract conceptualization, and active experimentation. Important parts of Kolb’s Learning Cycle and Vygotsky’s concept of the Zone of Proximal Development emphasize how learning is strengthened through social interaction, peer communication, and guided support. The program development model begins to demonstrate how connection (relationships and collaboration), content (developing and applying ideas), and authentic learning (real-world relevance and student interests) work simultaneously to support deeper understanding and student growth.
